Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists

We are registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP).

We work with children, teenagers, young adults (0 to 25 years) and parents. We are invested in providing an emotionally containing thinking space, using a creative, integrative and adaptable way of working that is tailored to each individual’s or family’s needs and pace.

We draw our knowledge and practice from psychoanalytic theory, developmental work, trauma-informed practice and neuroscience. We consistently stay up to date with current research.

What is Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy?

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is an inter-relational approach that aims to provide patients a safe space to explore and deepen an understanding of themselves and their experiences. We are not symptom focused, rather we consider the context of how and why these symptoms are presenting themselves. We think about the interplay of internal and external life whilst keeping different socio-cultural aspects in mind. Applying meaning and context to emotional struggles or unconscious patterns allows for feelings to become more bearable, providing relief and increased emotional resilience. This processing of one's feelings occurs within a trusting therapeutic relationship that follows the patients emotional pace.
